WHY WE CREATED OLIVEA
Wellness has always been part of my DNA — from flamenco and tennis as a child, to daily gym sessions and a major health-obsession as an adult. Every decision I make is rooted in taking care of my body.
In 2021, my world fell apart when my dad passed away suddenly from a heart attack. He was only 56. No warnings, no history of heart problems — he was just gone.
My family and I were heartbroken, confused, and left with so many unanswered questions.
As I tried to make sense of it all, I started digging deeper into vascular health.
That's when I learned something shocking: 1 in 3 people worldwide die from vascular-related diseases or complications. It’s the kind of thing no one talks about, yet affects almost EVERYONE.
It was right around that time when I came across some incredible scientific research behind extra virgin olive oil.
I learned that the phenolic compounds in high-quality EVOO don’t just reduce the risk of heart attacks and strokes — they attack the problem at it's core by preventing LDL oxidation, the first step in plaque formation.
Unfortunately, I also realized this simple, natural ingredient, so central to the Mediterranean diet, was almost nonexistent in daily Western lifestyles.
With the help of my friend Constantine, a Harvard-trained cardiologist from Greece, and his friend Leo, whose family has been producing olives for generations, we started developing Olivea.
